Our Materials

Every Nordforsstockholm belt begins with the hide. We work exclusively with full-grain leather — the uppermost and most durable layer, left intact so the natural grain, marks and depth of the material remain visible.

Our leather is vegetable-tanned in small European tanneries with centuries of tradition. Instead of chrome and synthetic chemicals, the hides are cured slowly using bark and plant extracts. The process takes weeks rather than hours, but it results in a material that ages with dignity and develops a patina unique to the person who wears it.

We choose our hides for character, not perfection. Subtle variations in tone, texture and grain are not flaws — they are evidence that the leather is real, honest and untouched by heavy correction or plastic finishes.

The buckles are solid brass, hand-polished and built to outlive trends. Stitching is done with waxed linen thread for strength and longevity. Nothing is added that does not serve the object.

The result is a belt that softens with wear, deepens in colour over the years, and becomes more yours with time. Made to be worn every day — for a lifetime.
